The Method
Step 1: Observations

In this step, you ask yourself: What do I see? What are the facts?

Before we continue, here are the ground rules for doing inductive Bible studies:

  1. Evidence - your interpretations must be supported by evidence.
  2. Picture - all the evidence must fit into the big picture.
  3. Pad answers - no pad answers and pre-conceived interpretations.
  4. Pastor says - no quoting the pastor or some sermon you have heard i.e. hearsay.
  5. Pre-chewed - no referal of books like commentaries because information from such is 'digested' information that does not help you do the digesting yourself.
